Whilst I have enjoyed the previous three books in the series, I felt there was a greater maturity to this one that indicates Faith Martin's growing confidence in her characters and their stories. Much more exciting is the attempt to take down a drug supplier which eventuates in a gun fight, injuries and deaths.Clear diction but considering so many make characters the narrators voice seemed almost the same for the narration plus the female characters and also the male ones. The book moved at a snail’s pace (I felt like I was traveling on a glacier to get to the resolution).

When Harry Powell, a retired dectective, moves into Belinda's small town, he certainly had no intention to be dealing with yet another murder. Will Mike and Sarah and their group make it to the castle they've heard about and believe to be their only chance at safety? His seemingly mild-mannered political rival can't seem to place himself at the time of death either.
